Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our resume builder and related services.

Our service is designed to let you create, edit, and export resumes, optionally use AI-assisted wording features, and purchase paid plans without requiring a permanent user account.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect the following categories of information:

  • Resume and profile content: details you enter into the builder, such as name, contact information, work history, education, skills, summaries, and other resume content.
  • Uploaded content: files or images you upload, such as profile photos or imported resume revision files.
  • Order and transaction information: information needed to create and manage purchases, such as plan selection, order status, payment provider references, and related billing records.
  • Contact information: details you submit when contacting support, sending an inquiry, or otherwise communicating with us.
  • Technical and usage information: information about how the site is used, such as pages viewed, device/browser data, and general interaction data, where analytics are enabled.
  • Cookie preferences: your cookie consent choice stored on your device.

2. How We Use Information

We use information we collect to operate and improve the service, including to:

  • provide the resume builder and generate downloadable resume files;
  • support resume revisions and re-download functionality where available;
  • process payments and manage paid plans through third-party payment providers;
  • provide AI-assisted writing features when you choose to use them;
  • respond to support requests, questions, and other communications;
  • maintain service security, prevent misuse, and troubleshoot technical issues;
  • understand product usage and improve the service where analytics are enabled.

3. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable, we process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract: to provide the service you request, including resume generation, file delivery, revisions, and paid features.
  • Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, improve, and administer the service.
  • Consent: where you consent to optional analytics or choose to provide information for optional features or communications.
  • Legal obligations: where we are required to retain or disclose certain information by law.

4. Payments

Payments for paid features are processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe. We do not store full payment card details on our own systems.

We may retain limited transaction-related information, such as order identifiers, plan details, payment status, and provider reference data, to confirm purchases, deliver services, prevent fraud, and support billing issues.

5. AI-Assisted Features

If you use AI-assisted writing features, the text you provide may be processed to generate suggested wording. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated output and deciding what to include in your resume.

If you import an existing resume or a LinkedIn "Save to PDF" export, the extracted text of that document (which may include your name, contact details, and full work history) is sent to our AI provider so it can be structured into a pre-filled draft for you to review and edit. Nothing from an import is saved to your resume automatically — you review and confirm each step yourself.

We do not guarantee that AI-generated text is accurate, complete, or suitable for your particular job application.

6. Cookies and Analytics

We use a cookie consent mechanism to manage optional analytics. If you accept analytics cookies, we may enable analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to better understand how the service is used.

If you decline optional cookies, those optional analytics tools should not be initialized from the consent flow. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

7. How Long We Keep Information

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, deliver purchased features, support revisions, maintain security, resolve disputes, and comply with legal or accounting obligations.

Files stored in our cloud file storage (Amazon S3) — such as uploaded profile photos, generated resume files, and revision data — are retained for a maximum of 30 days from the date they are created, after which they are automatically deleted. If your plan includes resume revisions, please keep your own copy of any downloaded resume, as files may no longer be available for re-download once this period has passed.

Order and transaction records (such as payment status and payment provider references) may be retained for longer periods where required for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, or other legal obligations, even after the associated files have been deleted.

Retention periods may otherwise vary depending on the type of data, whether the data relates to a completed purchase, and whether we need the data for support, legal compliance, or fraud prevention.

8. Sharing Information

We may share information with service providers that help us operate the service, such as providers for:

  • payment processing;
  • hosting and infrastructure;
  • file storage and file delivery;
  • AI processing (such as OpenAI), used to power AI-assisted writing suggestions and to structure imported resume/LinkedIn documents into a draft, where you choose to use these features;
  • analytics, where enabled;
  • communications or customer support tooling.

We do not sell your personal data for third-party marketing purposes.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing, and in some cases request portability.

To make a privacy-related request, contact us at support@upliftresume.com.

11. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own depending on where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with the updated date.

13. Frequently Asked Questions

How long do you keep my resume data?
Resume files and data are automatically deleted no later than 30 days after creation. Order and transaction records may be kept longer where required for accounting or legal reasons, even after your resume data has been deleted — see Section 7 for details.
Can I ask you to delete my data sooner?
Yes. Contact us at support@upliftresume.com with your request and, where applicable, your order reference, and we will delete or anonymize the data we hold about you unless we are legally required to keep it.
Do you track me with cookies?
Only if you opt in. We ask for your consent before enabling analytics cookies, and no analytics tools are initialized unless you accept. See our Cookie Policy for details on what is used and for how long.
Is my resume content used to train AI models?
When you use AI-assisted writing or resume import, your text is sent to our AI provider only to generate your suggestions or structure your draft — not to train their models, consistent with our provider's API data usage terms.
Where is my data processed?
We are based in the Czech Republic, but our service providers (such as hosting, file storage, payments, and AI processing) may process data in other countries, including outside the EU/EEA. See Section 11 for how we safeguard these transfers.
